I have felt the need to write about this for some time. I want it to be scripturally accurate and informational. I’m pretty sure it will offend some, but that is certainly not my intention. I just believe it is time for this to be addressed. I have never seen so much talk about heavenly realm spirits from, probably well meaning, preachers and teachers that is just absolutely false.  You have likely heard it from your pastor, read a book about it seen it from a tv evangelist...maybe discussed it in a conversation. THE Jezebel spirit, THE Leviathan spirit or THE Python spirit.

 

Puh-leeze! Three names mentioned in scripture that preachers and teachers have made into giant demon powers that the church should arm themselves against. May I say that these are “types” of spirits. Demon powers are spirits...that’s all, they are spirits. Jesus referred to them as “scorpions and serpents’ and whatever else they may manifest as...all the power of the enemy. There are billions of demons, they all have names, they all had creative purpose as Holy Angels, they all have some type of manifestation as creatures of darkness.

 

Leviathan is not a demon name, it is a demon type. Python is not a demon name, it is a demon type. Jezebel is not a demon name, it is a demon type, or attitude. There are two realms of demonic activity, the heavenly realm  where we have been given no authority except as it has to  do with us and what is ours. Against them we are told to stand and to resist.

The earthly realm where we have been given authority to cast those demons out. Jesus sent the 12 disciples and then the 70 to cast demons out of people and then to those that wanted it, never against a persons will. He said if they don’t receive you shake the dust from your feet and move on. Note he did not say come against the prince of Jerusalem He said Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Big difference!

 

First, let’s look at THE LEVIATAN spirit. I have encountered this type of spirit many times in people, by many different names. Leviathan is not the demons name, it is the type or form of demon. The Leviathan is mentioned six times in the Old Testament in Job 3:8, Job 40:15–41:26, Amos 9:3, Psalms 74:13–23, Psalm 104:26 and Isaiah 27:1.

Job 41:1–34 is dedicated to describing him in detail: "Behold, the hope of him is in vain; shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?" In Psalms 74, God is said to "break the heads of Leviathan in pieces" before giving his flesh to the people of the wilderness. In Psalms 104, God is praised for having made all things, including Leviathan, and in Isaiah 27:1, he is called the "tortuous serpent". A sea serpent. Translated as "great whales" in the KJV do not describe them as harmful but as ocean creatures who are part of God's creation. Clearly this is not THE name of a demon but  a description of the type...a sea creature.

 

I have encountered this type of demon many, many times. Inside of a person he is generally located in the chest area and his function is often but not always “pride”. In hundreds of deliverance sessions, here are some things we have identified as functions for this demon: “Calls himself king of the children of pride: mourning, spiritual darkness, arrogance, spiritual  pride, (using logic, rationalization, justification to know things of God). King of Doubt, blocks mind, hinders spiritual growth, distracts, disturbs concentration on Bible study or prayer, causes weariness, sleepiness in worship services; Smothers the breath of God with pride and arrogance. Misappropriation of gifts and talents. Importance of money. A huge serpent coiled in abdomen, dislikes Psalm 74:13,14; causes brooding, melancholy, depression, gloominess, irascibility, mental dejection. mania. Digestive problems. In lungs, robbing spiritual breath.”   These are but a few of the notes we have about his type of demon spirit with many individual names.

 

THE PYTHON spirit. Another type of spirit, a serpent, but that is not his name. The false conclusions about this come from Acts 16:16-18

16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: 17The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. 18And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

 

The Greek word here for spirit of divination is spirit of Python. This particular demon spirit manifesting as a python was a soothsaying, fortune telling spirit. Paul cast it out, the words from the woman were a hindrance to the gospel. She, like Jezebel, called herself a prophetess and by doing so her demonic information brought money to her masters and an obstacle to the truth of the gospel. From this section of scripture preachers have written speculative volumes about THE PYTHON spirit. Clearly, it is a type of spirit, a serpent. One of many manifestations of demon powers. In this case the demon was  hindering the gospel. I have encountered many serpent spirits, those that constrict, those with venom who strike with hatred or fear etc.

 

THE JEZEBEL SPIRIT has got to be the most talked about spirit. Everybody talks about this demon spirit. A spirit that once lived in a woman name Jezebel. A Baal worshipping dominating woman. Who married the King of Israel and sought to compromise the Jewish nation with her idolatrous thinking.

 

For some reason this demon spirit is often characterized as a loose woman, a seductive spirit. Yet, my encounters with this demonic spirit have revealed a family disorder work, a despiser of authority, rebellious and manipulative. Getting her way regardless of cost. Jesus said this in Rev. 2:20 to the church in Thyatira, “I have this against you,” said Jesus, “that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols”  Woman—who calls herself a prophetess...teaching and seducing my servants...false teaching, false practice. This is similar to what people now call liberation and tolerance. Jezebel was a self-serving Baal worshipper, bent on changing and corrupting the world-view of God’s people.

 

Many, many times I have encountered a spirit using the name Jezebel, we have summarized many works from this demon spirit, here are some: “I wreak HAVOC!” Disrupt order of home, destroy family, rob relationship. Challenges true authority, destroys thru dissension. Rebellion. Mocks message of God. Jezebel’s greatest enemy is true spiritual authority. Challenges truth with cunning deception. False holiness. Know it all, seeks to rule. Can cause DID, MPD, Pride, Fear, doubt, blasphemy. Calls itself QUEEN JEZEBEL worship of BAAL. Anger with Hatred. Lust, frigidity.  Tumor, hypoglycemia. Migraines. Control, confusion, chaos, has caused MS. A “Medusa”, warrior, fallen 6-winged seraphim.

 

I hope this helps. Don’t be misled by those who say, this church has a JEZEBEL spirit over it, or the LEVIATAN or the PYTHON. They don’t know! And they have no authority over heavenly realm spirits anyway. They are just spirits! Take care of yourself, walk in truth and maintain your Liberated Living. Thanks for your prayers.
